HESS -- Patricia Hess of Albuquerque-educator, mother and grandmother, musician, artist, traveler, friend to many, and ever curious and outgoing-passed away Friday morning, March 5, 2010 in Santa Fe. She is survived by her son and his wife; three grandchildren; her sister; and several nieces and nephews. Born in Bisbee, Arizona, she attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she completed a double major in music and education. She married, gave birth to a son, and spent the next few years in West Texas, teaching in the public schools and singing alto in the choir. Moving to Albuquerque in the mid-fifties, Patricia continued to teach third grade at Bel Air Elementary, and then mathematics at Hoover Middle School. In the mid-seventies she moved to Tempe and obtained a master's degree in mathematics at Arizona State University, and upon her return to Albuquerque she became a math consultant for the Albuquerque Public Schools. She retired from APS and moved to Fort Worth, where she worked as a math curriculum consultant for the school district. Then she became a consultant for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and traveled the country to observe and help stimulate innovative math programs. In retirement she spent her time playing the piano, contract bridge, traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with close friends and family. On Sundays she loved going to concerts at the Church of Beethoven. She was always upbeat and positive about life, and was generous and supportive of others. We miss her dearly. HOAGLAND -- Donald K. Hoagland, 68, passed away March 6, 2010 in his home after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hoagland; children Donna Valerio and her husband, John, Danny Hoagland and his wife, Marie, Karen Smith and her husband Stan, Patrick Hoagland and his wife, Beth; his grandchildren, Danny Valerio and his wife, Meredith, Veronica, Courtney, Evan, Jacob, Chad, Alana, Lee, Rychelle, Gabrielle, Arielle, Spencer; and great-grandchildren David, Eric and Kyle; he is also survived by his mother, Gladys Hoagland. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Hoagland; his sister, Barbara Page. He had many aunts, uncles, sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. The family would like to extend their thanks to the Hospice Staff, with gratefulness to Swana and Ida for their loving and caring support. MAYHEW -- David Allan Mayhew, Sr. 83, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 6, 2010 with his loving family at his side. David was born on July 13, 1926 in Sioux City, Iowa, to Arthur and Elizabeth Mayhew. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers; and sister. David is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jo Ann Mayhew; his children, David Mayhew, Jr. and his wife, Christine of Kingwood, TX, son, Donald Mayhew and wife, Teri of Albuquerque and daughter, Kathleen Brogdon and husband, Mike of Bosque Farms, NM; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of David's life will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at St. Stephens United Methodist Church, 4601 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE at 2:00 p.m. The family wishes to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Michael Harding, Dr. Derrick Lee and the caring staff of Presbyterian Hospital. MUCHA -- Ronald Gabriel, 42, of Omaha, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 5, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at St. Simons Community Church with Rev. Steve Temmer officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery with Louis Cristanelli, Chuck Ribbron, Sam Webb, Christian Strickland, Daniel Breese and John Eberly will serve as pallbearers. Born December 02, 1967 in Omaha Nebraska to Robert Mucha and Beverly Ann Feldhacker, Ronald was a business owner working in the electronics industry. He was an avid motor cross and exotic car fan. Survivors include his siblings, Robert Mucha; a brother, Thomas and Cindy Mucha all of Fort Collins, Colorado; nephew and sister,  Julie Mucha of Loveland Colorado; sister, Sandi Mucha of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister.
